Judge overturns Wal-Mart law

AP Story on the overturning of Maryland's "Wal-Mart" Health Care law. This law would have required all businesses with 10,000 or more workers to spend at least 8% of payroll on healthcare (which only affected Wal-Mart). Union organizers have been pushing for these types of employer mandates in other states, including here in Pennsylvania.

Check out Grant Gulibon's Commentary on why a Wal-Mart law would be bad policy for Pennsylvania.

Also read the Wall Street Journal's coverage of the ruling (and why businesses like Wal-Mart are protected from overregulation of health care, while small businesses and individuals are not).
