Database to Monitor Spending?

US Senators Tom Coburn and Jeff Flake have proposed a database tracking all recipients of federal grants (see Cato Institute analysis). Like many of you, I would enjoy easy access to this information. The numerous phone calls our office, ironically, receives with a computerize voice stating "Over $480 billion in government grants are awarded each year, get your share of the pie..." only peak my interest.

We need a similar centralized information source at the state level.
