Pennsylvania Turnpike Chair Target of FBI

KYW Radio reports that Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Chairman Mitch Rubin is now the target of an FBI Corruption probe.

This should not be a surprise, following the conviction of Rubin's political patron, former Senator Vince Fumo, and his wife, Ruth Arnao, as Rubin sits in the center of the Turnpike Family Tree (available at TurnpikeFacts.com).

Brad Bumsted has more on how Rubin's position may be in jeopardy.  The continued legacy of corruption at the Turnpike Commission - along with increased debt, higher tolls, and declining revenues - raises more questions about what the General Assembly should do about the agency.   We have some recommendations, including ending the practice of no-bid contracts and eliminating the commission altogether.
