Obama's Budget: More of the Same You Can Believe In
The Cato Institute's Chris Edwards has the latest Tax and Budget bulletin, with an updated analysis of spending by president.
The bulletin reiterates what Cato has been saying for years (as have we), that Bush was a big spender, dramatically increasing both defense spending and domestic spending. Edwards also notes that Obama is repeating many of the precedents of the Bush administration - deficit spending, Keynesianism, undermining federalism, health care expansion, new subsidies, "government efficiency," and "tiny" spending cuts.
You could add in a return to the culture of eamarks, but I think Citizens Against Government Waste and Taxpayers for Common Sense have already made that point.
