Home Sweet Home

WGAL has a feature on homeschooling. Homeschooling has become a popular alternative for families in recent years: over 1.5 million students across the country are currently taught at home - this is a 75% increase over the past decade. The clip cites students' safety, religious convictions, and dissatisfaction with the traditional school system as reasons for educating at home.

A common concern about homeschooling is the supposed lack of socialization students may receive. However, as the video points out, many students are able to participate in extracurricular activities as well as homeschool groups with like-minded families.
