Just had to correct some of the factually incorrect statements by Joe Markosek and Charlie Greenawalt which show either they have not read the lease agreement or they are intentionally misleading the public.

First, the lease agreement provides GREATER control and accountability than we currently get from either PennDOT or the PTC. How soon must PennDOT or the PTC remove road kill or fill a pothole? Who knows, because there are no standards of performance or punishments for failing to perform. Under the lease agreement, a dead deer must be removed within 8 hours, potholes must be filled within 24 hours.

As for tolls, they are capped (legally limited and they can't exceed the level in the contract. Period. They are uncapped under the Turnpike Commission.)

As for maintenance that Charlie says will be neglected, again, the contract is specific and requires even higher maintenance standards than the PTC and PennDOT currently keep.

Then there is Pashinski's xenophobia. We have to wonder if he's going to be introducing a bill to kick out the dozens upon dozens of foreign companies currently providing hundreds of thousands of jobs to Pennsylvanians today??
