More news on Government Reform
Round-up of a number of stories today on the push for government reform and transparency:
- Steve Samuelson has worked out a compromise with Babette Josephs - who stymied his previous redistricting effort - on redistricting reform. The new plan would offer greater transparency and guidelines for the redistricting process. However, legislators would continue to control the process. Both Barry Kauffman and I remark that this is a positive step - but the previous bill that Rep. Josephs killed was better.
- A new poll from Susquehanna Polling finds that 69% of midstate voters want a special session on government reform - starting now.
- The Senate GOP calls for Governor Rendell to get more grant contracts into the new online database. Though the Senate itself has very little information available.
