Wisconsin's Virtual Schools Could Close this Summer

Intriguing piece in School Reform News on how the Wisconsin teachers' union is also working to undermine cyber schools - rather than targeting funding, they are going after cyber schools based on a state law that requires certified teachers in the building. Their campaign slogan is "A unionized teacher in every home."

In the final days of the legislative session, the Governor agreed to a compromise that includes an enrollment cap and a performance audit. It's bad deal, but it is better than closing them down.

The bill awaits the Governor's signature.

The crisis may have been averted - although you can't trust Governor Doyle.

You've just gotta love liberals.
