Wisconsin's Virtual Schools Could Close this Summer
Intriguing piece in School Reform News on how the Wisconsin teachers' union is also working to undermine cyber schools - rather than targeting funding, they are going after cyber schools based on a state law that requires certified teachers in the building. In the final days of the legislative session, the Governor agreed to a compromise that includes an enrollment cap and a performance audit. It's bad deal, but it is better than closing them down.
The bill awaits the Governor's signature.
The crisis may have been averted - although you can't trust Governor Doyle.
You've just gotta love liberals.
