Semonizing on RendellCare

Morning Call article and Post-Gazette piece on the planned "CAP Sunday" and campaign to use sermons to promote RendellCare. (HT: GrassrootsPA)

I've written on Jesus and RendellCare before, both on confusing taxation and government programs with "healing the sick" and the all-too-frequent mislabling of government as "charity" (other commentaries on this theme here and here).

Personally, I don't care for lobbying from the pulpit, and would walk out of church if the sermon called on me to contact my legislator to support a policy proposal (even a policy I support). And while I understand that others believe their ministers should be calling for social and political activism, shouldn't that message be inspired by God, not by Governor Rendell's former campaign manager?
