There IS enough funding for roads and bridges

Sixty-three Senators believe there is enough federal funding for roads and bridges to also fund the "International Peace Garden" in Dunseith, North Dakota; "America’s Wetland Center" in Lake Charles, Louisiana; and a baseball stadium in Billings, Montana (from the National Taxpayers Union blog).

82 Senators believe there is enough fund for roads and bridges to also have earmarks (the amendment would have strip all earmarks until all structurally deficient and functionally obsolete bridges have been repaired).

80 Senators believe there is enough fund for roads and bridges to be able to fund bike paths (the amendment would have stripped all earmarks for bike paths until all structurally deficient and functionally obsolete bridges have been repaired).

Senators Specter and Casey both feel we have adequate bridge funding.

Given the list of pork projects being funded instead of roads and bridges, I guess it time to stop calling for higher taxes, and call for the elimination of the gasoline tax - as the Cato Institute does.
