Let Wisconsin Experiment with Socialized Medicine
John Stossel supports Wisconsin's $15 billion socialized medicine plan. He thinks by screwing up health care badly enough - apparently we didn't learn that lesson the Soviet Union, not to mention single-payer systems in Canada and Britain - Wisconsin can prevent the rest of the US from making the same mistake.
Of course, that's no silver lining for the Wisconsinites paying the bills, but Stossel offers his sympathy, "I feel bad for the people in Wisconsin. They already suffer from little job creation, and the Packers aren't winning, but it's better to experiment with one state than all of America."
You can catch John Stossel at the Commonwealth Foundation's Speaker Franklin Awards Dinner Nov. 14 in Pittsburgh.
