The TRUTH About Spending Increase

Before he called us imbeciles, Governor Rendell sent us (along with the PA Club for Growth) a letter calling for us to stop making statements about the rate of growth in the budget.

We responded explaining why our numbers are fair and accurate, why Governor Rendell has been deceptive in his statements about the budget, why we will continue to present a fair and accurate description of the tentative budget increase to the public.

Since Brett Lieberman has posted the letters on his Pennsyltucky Politics blog, I guess they are public information now.

Here is Governor Rendell's letter to us.

Here is our response to Governor Rendell.

The chart below further illustates the various budget numbers being thrown out; we believe the tentative budget should be compared to the prior year's budget, and "final spending" should be compared to "final spending"
