More Tax Money for Movies?

Do we need to spend more money to get movies made in PA? The Rendell administration is currently proposing giving filmmakers a 25 percent refundable tax credit (i.e. a grant) for their projects, expanding the current tax credit program. Read the Patriot News Story. This is in addition to the sales tax exemption film productions already get and the $10 million Film Grants program in the Department of Community and Economic Development (which Governor Rendell has proposed doubling).

Rendell says Philadelphia is ready for its close-up.
