Turnpike Hysteria

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Timothy Carson, vice chairman of the Turnpike Commission, explains what would happen if the Turnpike were to be leased to a private firm: tolls could reach $500 (he's does admit that probably won't happen, and doesn't take into account inflation at the future value of money even if it did).

To save us from toll hikes, he proposes "placing tolls on other interstates."

Yes, as bizarre as that last sentence seems, it is what he is proposing.
