Turnpike readies for battle over sale, lease

Patriot News story on how the Turnpike Commission is busy hiring lobbyists and PR representives to fight a potential turnpike lease - use of public money for lobbying and PR is of course just another reason why the we need to lease the turnpike to a private company.

Among the hires are former Jubelirer chief of staff Mike Long, and possible even former Senator Jubelirer himself, which is no surprise given his history of using the Turnpike Commission as his personal cesspool of patronage. Of course, any lobbying by Long or Jubelirer of the General Assembly would be a violation of the state ethics law they helped pass.
