Tax Shifts Considered

Both the Camp Hill School District and Cumberland Valley School District are considering shifting from property taxes to an income tax (PIT for Camp Hill and EIT for Cumberland Valley). As both news reports note, the tax shift will benefit some homeowners, but will increases taxes for renters and higher income homeowners. The shift will also increase taxes on small businesses, which pay taxes according to the PIT or EIT rate, but will not see a property tax rebate.
