Tax relief is illusion, panel says

The Morning Call reports on the phenomenon that is occuring all across Pennsylvania as school boards are forced to consider tax shifting.

One member of the Northampton Area School District's tax commission refused to cast a vote for any of the options because they were all flawed.

Only when the General Assembly addresses the ROOT cause of higher property taxes in PA--spending in public education--will we ever see property tax relief. Act 1, the so-called Property Tax Relief Act, is neither relief, nor an Act the General Assembly or Governor Rendell should be proud of.
