Rendell: Make an offer for Pa. Turnpike

Yesterday, Governor Rendell announced that the state will be accepting bids for a lease on the Pennsylvania Turnpike through December 22. (See Philadelphia Inquirer story). A lease would require legistlation next year.


Last month the Commonwealth Foundation hosted a forum, How to Meet Pennsylvania's Transportation Needs Without Raising Taxes or Fees, which highlighted the role public-private partnerships and a lease of the turnpike can play in improving PA's transportation infrastructure.
