Congress and the Stock Market
A few financial analysts have attributed stock market gains of the past two days as speculation over the winners of today's election. However, this study is worth a look: "more than 90% of the capital gains over the life of the DJIA have come on days when Congress is out of session." In other words, the market does well when there is little threat of Congress screwing up.
FYI, Congress is in recess now.
