Senate acts to cut back a few perks

As reported in the Patriot News, the state Senate plans to force Senators to contribute to their health care plans (possibly 1% of salary) and reduce the money available for monthly car leases (currently $600/month). That's only the first step in the marathon of reform, but at least there is some movement.

The article also covers yesterday's press conference on legislative reform, featuring the Commonwealth Foundation's John Kennedy.

This was a long time coming. I hope people keep the pressure on and the meaningful cuts in perks start coming out of Harrisburg.
