Governor Rendell's Sense of Irony

On the anniversary of the 2005 pay raise, Governor Rendell will be handing out pork in the Capitol ... non-metaphorical pork in this case.

From News Release:

HARRISBURG -- In celebration of National Hot Dog Month and Pennsylvania Hot Dog Day, Governor Edward G. Rendell and Hatfield Quality Meats will host the second annual “Grillin’ With the Guv,” a free hot dog lunch from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 7, behind the State Capitol.
Governor Rendell will serve hot dogs to state employees, members of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Pennsylvania and the public. Hatfield Quality Meats will make a donation to the Boys & Girls Club and donate food to homeless shelters around the state. WINK 104 will broadcast live from the afternoon’s festivities, which will be highlighted with an appearance by Hatfield’s Smiley the Pig.

EVENT: “Grillin’ With the Guv”
DATE: Friday, July 7
