Economic Development Subsidies Fail

Today's Wall Street Journal writes on the failure of taxpayer-funded "economic development" grants - i.e. corporate welfare - in the state of Michigan.

The article relies heavily on a study by the Mackinac Center.

NB. I know that the CF has looked at this issue in Pa. There was also a state audit of some of Rendell's programs two years ago. As I recall, there were some big discrepancies between promises and facts. The AG made a series of recommendations. Any idea what happened?
