What Will Higher Business Taxes Get You?

Bloomberg, via the Club for Growth, has a troubling lesson for those who want to hike business taxes.  Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer says that if Obama's new corporate tax scheme is passed, Microsoft will move more jobs overseas.

In related news, Pennsylvania Senate Democrats want to impose "mandatory combined reporting" on business taxes - which is similar to Obama's plan, only it would tax Pennsylvania companies on their business in other states, rather than on an national/international scale.  The idea is to crack down on the "Delaware Loophole" - the loophole being Delaware and other states have lower taxes on businesses, and so corporations set up shop there.  The PA Chamber has more on combined reporting.

And the answer to the question posed in the title?  Higher business taxes get you fewer businesses and fewer jobs in those remaining businesses.

I'll take "fewer jobs, slow to no economic growth, less opportunity and more dependence on government" for $1,000, Alex.
