Oink, Oink

Today, Citizens Against Government Waste released its 2009 Congressional Pig Book. The report identifies over 10,000 pork-barrel projects in the federal budget, costing hard-working American's over $19 billion.

Examples of wasteful spending include:

- $3,800,000 for the Old Tiger Stadium Conservancy
- $1,900,000 for the Pleasure Beach water taxi service project
- $1,791,000 for swine odor and manure management research.
Also, check out our Government on a Diet: Spending Tips 2009, which identifies wasteful spending in the state budget.
