Big Government, Big Corruption
Dan Mitchell from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity links the connection between government growth and corruption in this clip. He notes that rather than promoting honest dealings, government intervention and regulation actually encourage corrupt behavior.

This story completely supports my theory that one can never eliminate fraud and corruption since in is inherent in human behavior and that the only way to control it is to reduce in absolute terms the amount that can be stolen from. For example, if corrupt and financially driven individuals and organizations steal or misdirect 15 to 25% of all federal expenditures, shrnk the size of the pot that they can steal from and we will all sleep better and have more of our money to spend.
What, and there is no corruption in the private sector? Come on...who are you trying to fool.
You must be joking. Corruption was rampant from the beginning. Remember that a bank speculator almost brought down the nascent federal banking system in the first years of the republic, and speculation been at the root of recessions throughout US history
