The need to "do something"

Matt Lewis has an entertaining post on the need to "do something" with regard to the federal "stimulus" - comparing it to a 19th century doctor pressed to "do something" for a sick child.  The doctor, thinking he must act quickly, but lacking the medical knowledge we have today (much like Congress), would likely use leeches to bleed the child; effectively killing her. Does Congress know any better?

Well, John Kerry thinks so.  Here is a video of him denouncing letting people spend their own money - they are not as wise as government officials.

In other stimulus-related development, the Heritage Foundation presents The Case for Free Market Solutions to the Economic Crisis, a summary of their recent economic forum with the Club for Growth.
