Where to Find WAMs

I have gotten a couple of requests today for lists of WAMs and other recent spending.

We put together a list of recent grants the Governor has awarded/announced in just the last two months (after it was clear that the state was facing a serious budget shortfall). Among the largest of the recent handouts was the $44 million in grants for recreation.

For lists of grants, it takes some searching. The Department of Community and Economic Development “Investment Tracker” has grants searchable by program name, date awarded, and county. Department of Community and National Resources grant info can be found here, but you have to download a Word document to get grants awarded after mid-2007 (and no information is available yet on grants after April 2008).

The list of programs we have identified as WAMs is here.

This is extortion. Pat Vance put a letter on her website last year saying she voted yes on the budget because "taxes weren't raised". What a load of crap! Is there anyone else out there as angry as I am. Most of the public are sheep and these crooks know it. If someone steals something you don't know about, it doesn't make it ok. If it weren't for fear of going to jail and not being able to take care of my family I would stop paying and fight these disgusting pigs!!!
