Renewing the Call for Pension Refom

Deb Erdley has a story in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on pension funds for public school employees and state workers, in light of a PSBA plan for reform, recent losses in investment funds, and the looming jump in required taxpayer contributions.

Our own Rick Dreyfuss explains why the PSBA plan isn't much of an improvement, and why the "defined contribution" plan introduced by Pat Browne and Jane Orie in the Pennsylvania Senate and Scott Boyd in the House is a better long-term solution.

Do you know status of Browne Orie bill? With clear majority in Senate, one would think this would be moving.

It will have to be re-introduced in the new session. I don't believe the bill made it out of committee this past session.
