House Republican Caucus: Opening the Books
The House Republican Caucus has posted a number of contracts on the Treasurer’s website and announced they will start observing the new Open Records Law immediately, rather than wait until January, when it legally goes into effect. By January all caucuses and state agencies will have to post contracts and purchase orders of more than $5,000 under the revamped Open Records law.
Here is the letter we sent to the Senate Republican Caucus (and copied the House leaders) encouraging them to post their contracts online.
Spending transparency is a no-brainer. Taxpayers should be able to see where their money is being spent. Lawmakers should not have anything to hide.
