"Free" School Trip

The Times-Tribune ran a story on yet another instance of school officials using tax dollars for everything but educating students. The Mid Valley School District sent some of its officials to Orlando, Florida for a vacation conference hosted by the National School Boards Association.

Expenses for the officials (including those who brought spouses) for the week-long stay total $36,000. The reimbursements include not only hotel rooms, but gym access, minibars, and meals at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse as well.

Viewers in the Scranton area can tune into WYOU tonight at 6pm and 7pm to hear our very own Nathan Benefield comment on the extravagant amenities that Pennsylvanians paid for but did not get to enjoy themselves.

I am trying to figure out how these public servants aren't arrested for stealing. We the people have given up our right to earn a living by paying unreasonable taxes so those who are supposed to serve us, instead exploit us. Those who are responsible for this outrageous misappropriation of spending should be hauled into the klink. After a few examples are set you'll see a lot less of this garbage. Remember they will take your home if you don't pay your taxes.
