Senate passes transporation P3 bill

The Senate yesterday passed a bill allowing for Public Private Partnerships in transportation (bill text). The big Kahuna, the Turnpike lease, is exempted from the legislation, but it allows for P3 on new projects and competitive contractin operations of mass transit - which may be prove more important in the long run. It should also prove easier to pass, as the entrenched interests are busy lobbying with public funds against it.
