Lackawanna County: Where's the Film?

Another case study on corporate welfare for the film industry was featured in the Morning Call. Lackwanna County officials are wondering what happened to the $500,000 of taxpayer money invested in a Paul Sorvino film.

County commissioners Michael Washo and Corey O'Brien have criticized the investment as too risky.
Conclusion: Any time a project relies on government officials "investing" other people's money, rather than private investors investing their own money, it is likely "too risky".
