State of the Union Word Analyzer

This neat website analyzes State of the Union speeches with word count (Jimmy Carter gave the longest speech) and key word analysis.

I like playing with the graphic feature, allowing you to graph two words over time. I noticed for instance, that the word "democracy" is much more popular today (though FDR's usage dwarfs everyone else) than in early speeches, while "republic" is rarer. Also "spending" was unused until the 20th century and boomed under and after FDR, whereas "constitution", except for one of Reagan's addresses, has fallen into disuse.
