Toll criticisms mount; Better solutions exist

"When it comes to problem-solving, the I-80 toll proposal is the same old Pennsylvania government solution – when in doubt, increase taxes, fees and debt.

"Privatizing the turnpike represents fresh thinking, the kind of out-of-the-box solution that Pennsylvania must move to if it is to survive economically.

"We call on our local legislators to shove the I-80 toll proposal into the waste basket and instead push hard for strong consideration of a turnpike lease agreement."
