PA Ranks 27th in FY 2008 Business Climate Index

The Tax Foundation's latest State Business Tax Climate Index is now available. (Click here for the summary and here for the full report.)

Pennsylvania ranks 27th (i.e. 27th "most tax friendly" or 24th "least tax friendly"), down 2 spots from last year. (The previous report ranked us 22nd, but these are adjusted as new data is made available and as states change their tax policies).

We rank well on the Individual Income Tax Index (11th), for having a low, single rate; middle of the pack on sles tax and unemployment insurance, but high on corporate taxes and property taxes (including the Corporate Stock and Franchise tax).
