Morning Call Story on Governor Rendell's announcement he would support a repeal of Act 44 if legislators found an alternative funding stream. A Turnpike lease remains at the center of his plans. Also check out a letter from Sens. Baker, Gordner, and Mary Jo White to the FHWA on tolling I-80. The US DOT has to approve the state's plan to toll I-80, and there doesn't seem to be any program that would allow them to do so, even if Congressman Peterson's or Senator Hutchinson's bills to ban tolls on existing freeways fail.
