Pinocchio Ed

Allegheny Institute's Jake Haulk in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review challenges -- among other half-baked claims made by Gov. Rendell -- the mindset that government "investment" of tax dollars is a sign of prosperity:

It should be axiomatic to anyone with the merest modicum of understanding of how capitalism and free enterprise work that Pennsylvania will, in fact, be at its best only when private companies are eager to invest their own capital in the commonwealth because the tax, labor and regulatory climates are conducive to operating a business profitably and with the least aggravation from the governing bodies.
