210 districts can raise taxes without votes

Martha Raffaele of the AP reports that 210 school districts will be allowed to increase property taxes
above their index (which ranges from 3.4 to 5.5%, depending on the district) without a voter referendum.

Last week the Patriot News reported that 210 districts had applied for exemptions - which means ZERO were denied.

Update: PDE has release the school district exemptions granted. The most common exemption was for employee pensions. This should be on everyone's radar screen, as pensions contributions to PSERS will escalate dramatically in the years to come.
