Walter Reed and Universal Health Care

Greg Mankiw blogs on a satire piece in which Hillary Clinton calls for Universal Healthcare based on the Walter Reed scandal: “Just think how bad it would be if it weren’t a government run system."

Unfortunately, as Mankiw points out, this satire isn't so far-fetched, as he cites a Paul Krugman New York Times editorial calling for government run healthcare in the model of the Veterans Health Administration.
