Time for another Rendell tax proposal

From the bad idea factory in Harrisburg comes another proposal for a tax increase to fund another misguided government program. This time, Governor Rendell proposes increasing electricity taxes by $850 million to fund the"Energy Independence Fund," which would give rebates for buying "energy efficient appliances" and handout for "expansion of energy companies".

A great program if you are an energy efficient appliance manufacturer or among the businesses Governor Rendell determines to be most deserving, not so great for taxpayers.

I guess Governor Rendell is back from his taxpayer-funded trip around the state to hype his last proposal for higher taxes.
