House Already Reforming Itself

The PA House Republicans spent much of the past week discussing how best to enact reform - and deciding their first step would be to create a new caucus leadership post of "Speaker Emeritus" - to be filled by former Speaker John Perzel.

Now while neither the Commonwealth Foundation or any of the other reform groups identified Speaker Emeritus as a crucial reform needed, I am certain the House Republican were acting only in the best interest of Pennsylvania's residents in creating a Speaker Emeritus to help clean up the legislative process.

Even better, given John Perzel's fundraising prowess, I am sure that the new post will be funded entirely through voluntary donations, and not a dime of taxpayer money will be used.
