Disappointed with WSJ Analysis. Since WSJ didn't provide link to the data. Here's the 2003 info. The 1% took in close to 35% of the total income in the country. The bottom 50% took in less than 4%. The analogy of a banquet is terrible. It's more like the top 1% of the attendees got 1/3 of the food for the night, and the bottom 50% got a couple of rolls.
The rich are paying 35% of the tax bite because they are taking in close to 35% of the total income in the country. That actually sounds like a flat tax.
