Colin McNickle on the PNC welfare

In the 1980s and 90s, stories about "welfare queens" using tax dollars to buy Cadillacs led to a major overhaul of welfore in the mid-1990s. Maybe PNC's role as a "welfare king" will help lead a reform movement against "corpoarate welfare" in the 21st century.

A major difference between traditional welfare for the poor and welfare for the rich, of course, is that "corporate welfare" also subsidizes politicians. Unlike tax dollar transfers to the poor who can't help fill the coffers of re-election committees, the transfer of tax dollars to "welfare kings" eventually makes it back to the redistributionist politicos.

The politicos, of course, will call it "economic development". Citizens should recognize it for what it truly is: "political development" using their tax money.
