SAT Scores and PA Schools

SAT Scores Nationally, scores dropped, primarily attributed to a change in the test format.

Pennsylania continues to lag behind, ranking 47th in the nation in average combined SAT score. Many defenders claim that Pennsylvania's high participation rate (74% of high school seniors) make it lower than states with low participation rates, as reported in The Times-Tribune. However, even among high participation rates, Pennyslvania students score low.

The following chart illustrates that Pennsylvania ranks 11th among the 13 states (including DC) with a 70% or higher participation rate in average SAT Score.
