Rendell: Budget Could Be Worse

Governor Rendell names states who will be increasing their budgets faster than PA. Ironically, his list is identical to our list of "States we least want to emulate."

From Capitol Wire (subscription):

While conservatives have criticized the budget, Rendell and the GOP legislative leaders for the budget’s alleged increase of more than 6 percent, Rendell noted that New York raised its budget 9 percent, as did Maryland this year. New Jersey, Rendell predicted “will be in double-figures.”

Rendell said the national average for the 30-some states who have already passed budgets is 6.8 percent. He said “We’ll be below the national average.”
