Rendell caught trying to help union buddies
The Rendell Administration recently made a rules change that he changed again. Gov. Rendell's Department of Labor and Industry had advised state and municipal governments that they would have to start paying the "prevailing wage" on maintenance projects that were not previously subject to the union-inflated price. Of course, it is the taxpayers who get stuck with the higher costs of road repair.
It appears that enough pressure was created to get Gov. Rendell to suspend the rule change. Read the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette story here.
Now Rendell will have to explain this change to his union buddies. The question is, has Rendell already cashed their campaign checks or will they cancel payment? Hmmm....
